Fashion Friday returns with a great selection of new styles. It is still fashion week season around the world and haute couture invaded France for Paris Fashion Week this past week, but there are also new trends and collections bubbling outside of the major fashion houses in in the realms of street style, shoes and caps.
French label M.Moustache unveiled a dandy new collection of sneakers. A perfect fit for the Spring/Summer season, M.Moustache shoes will pair well with a number of looks without losing the luxurious comfort of a pair of slippers. Different prints and colors ensure that every fashionista will find their match. Etudes Studio served up a late introduction for their Spring/Summer 14 collection, entitled World Talk. Inspired by the contemporary world and the massive influence of the internet, the garments feature bold graphics and cool details. These pieces are easy-to-wear and easy-to match with wardrobe basics like jeans and other solid tops or bottoms to create a stylish look.
For those nostalgic for the aesthetic of the 80s and 90s, French label Childhood Memories pulled inspiration from iconic sporting events, cartoons, animations, children’s toys and video games to deliver an impressive tee collection. When asked about the collection they stated, “a creative adult is a child who has survived.” In that case, let the children continue to reign. Continuing down memory lane, New Era reveals a capsule collection of 6 hats that pay tribute to the old original style of professional baseball cap with the famous 19TWENTY shape.
Last but not least, Moschino hit hard at Paris Fashion Week with their Fall/Winter ’14 collection. The Italian label hired exuberant designer Jeremy Scott to contribute his cutting-edge skills to their brand. He clearly stood up to the label’s standards with a new and innovative collection that carried strong influences from American pop culture. Scott had the audacity to revisit the McDonald’s yellow and red universe, highlighting the inescapable fast food chain with chic and elegance. Whether you like it or not, it was a bold thing to do and the result is impressive.
Scroll through our gallery above to discover all of the new trends for this week. Tweet @okayplayer with #fashionfriday to talk about it.

So dope! If you’re a 90′s baby, you’ll definitely enjoy this little fun ‘fact’ or… discovery. “Andy’s mom has always been a bit of an enigma. In the first Toy Story, we barely even saw her face. That’s all fine because throughout the movies, the real focus has been on Andy and the love he has for those toys. But this is Pixar, and it stands to reason that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the Davis family (Andy’s last name).” For more about it below!
In order to understand who Ms. Davis really is, we have to start with something seemingly simple: a hat.
In the picture below, you see Andy’s cowboy hat that he plays with throughout his childhood. Study it closely.

Robocoin said on Tuesday that this month it will install the first automated teller machines in the United States that let users buy and sell bitcoin, the latest step into the mainstream for the digital currency.
The kiosks, to be installed in Seattle, and Austin, Texas, are similar to ATMs but have scanners to read government-issued identification such as a driver’s license or a passport to confirm users’ identities.
The ATMs will allow people to swap bitcoin for cash, or deposit cash to buy more bitcoin by transferring funds to or from a virtual wallet on their smartphones.
Bitcoin was launched in 2008 and is traded within a global network of computers. It is not backed by a single company or government and has no assets behind it, but its release is tightly controlled, mimicking a central banking system’s control over the minting of money.
Robocoin, based in Las Vegas, installed its first bitcoin ATM in Vancouver last fall and will also start operating one in Calgary, Alberta, later this month. Robocoin also is planning to install ATMs in Asia and Europe.
A bitcoin is currently worth about $ 636, but its value has fluctuated widely as the currency’s visibility has increased. Last September, a bitcoin was worth around $ 150. By late December the value was near the $ 1,000 mark.
Users can buy products and services online on sites including Overstock.com or in a handful of stores.
The currency’s reputation took a hit last week when two of its best known exchanges suspended withdrawals. One of them, Slovenia-based Bitstamp, said Friday it planned to allow redemptions to resume.

Dwyane Wade is planning one marriage, while trying to make his last one go away for good. D. Wade and Siohvaughn are headed back to court on February 28th regarding their divorce settlement and Siohvaughn has some not nice things to say about Wade in her court docs.
Via Radar Online
“As Dwyane Wade’s income increased,” she claims, “his arrogance and pride increased as well. Dwyane Wade began to call me derogatory names more, throw things at me, hit me, take all my money from me, and even kicked me out of the house causing me not to have a place to live. … As a means of controlling me, and as part of Dwyane Wade’s domestic violence pattern, he would often hit me, lock me in rooms and not allow me out, threaten to take my sons from me and frighten me by telling me he knows judges and that they are on his pay roll and he can take the children from me at any time he wanted. The domestic violence and abuse continued on for several years in our family.”
“I tried to leave Dwyane Wade, but when I did, he made sure I did not have access to my own home and he cut off all my bankcards and denied me access to any money,” she continues. “This exerting of power and control has continued to this day.”
In one incident, she claims, “He picked up a garbage can made of marble stone and threw it at me. Dwyane Wade picked me up into the air above his head and slammed me down onto a large ottoman with such force that the ottoman broke into pieces when he slammed my body on it and banged my head against a marble bathroom floor.”
“Subsequently,” she claims, “I ended up having to be rushed to the emergency room of Christ Hospital andspent an entire week hospitalized.”
But it was about to get even worse. Siohvaughn claims in the documents that she discovered Dwyane was cheating on her, and when she got tested for STDs, she says shefound out that he had given her one. Shortly after, on May 27, 2008, Dwyane filed for divorce.
“The marriage has ended but Dwyane Wade’s abuse has not ceased,” Siohvaughn claims in the documents, “and through the court system he continues to use his money and influence to exert power and control over me.”

The 2014 Grammys was a night to remember, with young guns (Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore) thrown into the mix with old battle-axes (Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers, Smokey Robinson, Willie Nelson & others) with results that were sometimes awkward and occasionally inspiring. On a Grammys evening that opened with Jayoncé and hit its crescendo with Queen Latifah marrying 34 couples onstage while Macklemore and Madonna muddled through a medley (say that 5 times fast) some of the best but less flashy musical moments were in danger of being overshadowed. Those included a star turn (only their 2nd televised performance ever, as Neil Patrick Harris reminded us) from Album of the Year winners Daft Punk with Pharrell (in full Royal Canadian Mounted Police uniform), Stevie Wonder & Nile Rodgers–as well as a less intuitive but still striking collabo from Robin Thicke and Chicago. John Legend held it down for traditional piano stool musicality (and soul-bearing r&b) with “All Of Me” while Gary Clark, Jr., Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson held it down for American roots music–all in their own ways.
Lorde stayed true to her very young brand by turning in an extremely spare (barely-lit) performance of her sleeper hit “Royals”–and then won Song Of The Year in an upset that was still totally expected in some quarters (round here). By far the highlight of the show, however, was Kendrick Lamar‘s appearance with Imagine Dragons for the remix of their song “Radioactive,” demonstrating why he should have handily won the statue in any number of categories if the criteria were different–and even provoking Taylor Swift to go into headbang mode. Upstaging the entire proceedings, the intensity that ‘the good kid’ brought to the mic seemed to be his way of saying to the Grammy committee: “This whole court is out of order!”

Kanye West and Steve McQueen have a fireside chat about the Chi-Town super producer’s evolution, discussing risk, rebirth and more for Interview Magazine. McQueen – the man behind the critically-acclaimed Twelve Years A Slave and the dark visuals for Kanye’s “Blood On The Leaves” – picks West’s brain to take a deeper look at the genesis of the his career and the near-death experience that made way for The College Dropout. Kanye West details the effects of personal loss and the importance of the trinity; in West’s case, the ghost comes from a combination of God, sex and alcohol. The pair also discuss lingering creative pressures and West’s plans for the future. Check the text below to read an excerpt of Kanye West’s discussion with Steve McQueen. Read the full interview and peep the crazy photo gallery from photographer Steven Klein via Interview Magazine.
MCQUEEN: Let’s go deep very quickly then: Talk to me about who you were and who you’ve become—both before and after your accident, the car crash. Who are those two people, Kanye before and Kanye after? Are they different people? Was there a seismic change in who you were after you nearly lost your life?
WEST: I think I started to approach time in a different way after the accident. Before I was more willing to give my time to people and things that I wasn’t as interested in because somehow I allowed myself to be brainwashed into being forced to work with other people or on other projects that I had no interest in. So simply, the accident gave me the opportunity to do what I really wanted to do. I was a music producer, and everyone was telling me that I had no business becoming a rapper, so it gave me the opportunity to tell everyone, “Hey, I need some time to recover.” But during that recovery period, I just spent all my time honing my craft and making The College Dropout. Without that period, there would have been so many phone calls and so many people putting pressure on me from every direction—so many people I somehow owed something to—and I would have never had the time to do what I wanted to.
MCQUEEN: So basically, it allowed you to focus, and you realized at a certain point that it was now or never—and that you had to do it now.
WEST: Yes. It gave me perspective on life—that it was really now or 100 percent never. I think that people don’t make the most of their lives. So, you know, for me, right now it seems like it’s the beginning of me rattling the cage, of making some people nervous. And people are strategically trying to do things to mute my voice in some way or make me look like I’m a lunatic or pinpoint the inaccuracies in my grammar to somehow take away from the overall message of what I’m saying …
MCQUEEN: Well, unfortunately, that is indicative of what a lot of black performers and leaders have had to go through. People will often try to undermine them in a way to take away their power. You know, when I saw you perform, I was like, “This guy is gonna die on stage.” When I saw you play, it felt like that—like it could be the last performance that you give. There’s an incredible intensity to your performances.
WEST: As my grandfather would say, “Life is a performance.” I’m giving all that I have in this life. I’m opening up my notebook and I’m saying everything in there out loud. A lot of people are very sacred with their ideas, and there is something to protecting yourself in that way, but there’s also something to idea sharing, or being the person who makes the mistake in public so people can study that.
MCQUEEN: It can be hard to take those kinds of risks as an artist if you’re thinking about tomorrow.
WEST: Well, all we have is today. You know, the past is gone, and tomorrow is not promised.
MCQUEEN: So Yeezus was about throwing away what people want you to do—the so-called “success”—so you could move on to something else.
WEST: It’s the only way that I can survive. The risk for me would be in not taking one—that’s the only thing that’s really risky for me. I live inside, and I’ve learned how to swim through backlash, or maintain through the current of a negative public opinion and create from that and come through it and spring forth to completely surprise everyone—to satisfy all believers and annihilate all doubters. And at this point, it’s just fun.
MCQUEEN: But there must have been moments of doubt or depression or sadness. I mean, with what happened after the Taylor Swift incident [at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards] and all the negativity that came your way as the result of that. How did you deal with it all mentally, physically, and spiritually?
WEST: It’s funny that you would say “mentally, physically, spiritually” because my answer before you even said that was going to be “god, sex, and alcohol.”

Police discovered a second arm and other human tissue in a New York river on Saturday and believe that the body parts belong to an autistic teen who went missing in October.
The first arm was found on Thursday in the East River, which sparked a large search along the river’s banks and ultimately led to the discovery of more unidentified body parts.
The family of the missing teen is awaiting DNA results.
Avonte Oquendo, a 14-year-old with autism, wandered away from his school on Oct. 4 and has been missing since.
Avonte’s family has refused to give up hope and they still believe he could come home one day.
“I’ll say it again,” the family’s lawyer, David Perecman, said on Sunday. “It’s not Avonte until the DNA evidence comes in and says it is.”
Perecman, however, had to admit that the situation is “not looking great.”
The articles of clothing that were discovered along with the remains seem to match the clothes that Avonte had on when he was last seen by a security officer at the school the day he disappeared.
The teen’s disappearance has sparked a lot of criticism about the way the New York City Department of Education handles special-needs students.
The guard briefly asked Avonte what he was doing when he saw the teen wandering around, but Avonte didn’t respond and left the building with no further questions.
New York City has mainstreamed nearly 200,000 special-needs students, integrating them in local public schools.
The issue, however, is that many of these schools don’t know how to deal with students with disabilities or special-needs nor do they have sufficient knowledge of their conditions.
Ever since the students were intermixed into local schools, the number of special-needs students being suspended for behavioral issues has skyrocketed in those districts. New York City schools have promised to bulk up security to prevent any other students from wandering off.
New York City police will continue their search for Avonte until they can confirm the identity of the remains.

With marijuana becoming more and more popular and legalized through out the nation, the president gave his input on the affects of the “drug”; hit the jump for his full response!
President Obama has shed light on the topic of weed, stating that although he does not condone it he does not see it as a major drug, rather more along the line of the same as alcohol. The president stated:
“As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol,” Obama told Remnick.
“It’s not something I encourage, and I’ve told my daughters I think it’s a bad idea, a waste of time, not very healthy,” he added.
When it came to some of hypocritical stances on the “drug” in the eyes of politicians or the consequences if found with marijuana, Obama stated:
“We should not be locking up kids or individual users for long stretches of jail time when some of the folks who are writing those laws have probably done the same thing,” he said.

An email sent to the roughly 70 million Target stores customers who may have been affected by a pre-Christmas data breach is causing panic among those who fear it could be an attempt to victimize them again.
Target says the email, which offers free credit monitoring services to potential victims of the breach, is legitimate. But the company has identified a handful of scammers who are trying to take advantage of the public’s fear and confusion
Consumers have been on edge since news of the data breach broke last month. They’ve been warned to be on alert for possible follow-up attacks that could come in the form of phishing emails, electronic messages designed to implant malicious software on their computers or to draw them to websites that prompt them to enter personal information.
So when Target’s email began circulating earlier this week, many recipients questioned its authenticity. The email was especially suspicious to people who say they haven’t set foot in a Target store in years.
Jim Reid, 60, of Minneapolis says he was a little nervous about clicking on the link in the email and he questioned whether it was a good idea to send Target even more personal information when they were unable to protect it in the first place.
“There’s too much uncertainty,” Reid says. “They keep changing what they’re saying about how many people were affected, about what kinds of information were stolen. It’s obvious that they really don’t know.”
According to Target, hackers stole data related to 40 million credit and debit card accounts and also pilfered personal information, including email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses and names of as many as 70 million customers.
Target spokeswoman Molly Snyder says it’s those 70 million people that Target contacted by email. And while Target believes the theft of the roughly 40 million debit and credit card numbers only affected cards swiped between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15, the 70 million people whose personal information was stolen could have last shopped at a Target store months, or even years, ago.

President Obama’s continuing negotiations with Iran over its nuclear weapons program has entered a critical phase, as Republicans and a select group of Democrats in the Senate are trying to pass a bill that would impose strict new sanctions on Iran that could destroy the president’s fragile negotiations.
Obama is trying to stop more Senate Democrats from supporting the bill, which hopes to reduce Iran’s oil exports down to nothing. The bill currently has the support of 59 senators, including 16 Democrats, meaning it would need just a few more to have the two-thirds majority to override Obama’s threatened veto.
On Sunday the U.S. and Iran signed a six-month interim agreement to temporarily freeze Iran’s nuclear program in return for limited sanctions relief, but Iran officials have said they would walk away from the bargaining table if the U.S. enacts new sanctions during the negotiations.
In putting pressure on Congress, the White House has said the senators who vote for sanctions would be putting the two nations on a “march toward war.”
White House officials believe many senators actually want a war with Iran.
“It just stands to reason if you close the diplomatic option, you’re left with a difficult choice of waiting to see if sanctions cause Iran to capitulate, which we don’t think will happen, or considering military action,” Benjamin J. Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser, told the New York Times.
But the senators think they actually should get credit for bringing Iran to the negotiating table. They claim the West needs the specter of additional sanctions as a “diplomatic insurance policy”—something that can be held over Iran if it reneges on the interim deal or the talks ultimately fail.
Obama and other senior officials have continued to meet with lawmakers to stop the rush to sanctions.
“My preference is for peace and diplomacy, and this is one of the reasons why I’ve sent the message to Congress that now is not the time for us to impose new sanctions,” the president said to reporters on Monday after meeting with Spain’s prime minister, Mariano Rajoy. “Now is the time for us to allow the diplomats and technical experts to do their work.”
Senate majority leader Harry Reid of Nevada has so far resisted pressure to allow a vote on a sanctions bill. While he is a staunch Obama ally, he is also a strong supporter of Israel.
Reid’s aides offered assurances that he would not be bringing a bill to the Senate floor before the president’s State of the Union address on Jan. 28.
Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin, Democrat of Maryland and a strong supporter of the legislation, was offended by the White House’s pressure, particularly the use of the “march to war” language.
“I think they should regret using that language,” he said. “The bad actor is Iran.”
